Slim Pickens Cider & Mead is the brainchild of Todd Strauss, whom locals likely know from Tampa’s Cigar City Cider & Mead and Yeoman’s Road Pub. Mostly known for stouts but there’s no line Angry Chair Brewing won’t cross in that area and they appreciate the love they receive for interpretations of that style. With beer, you’re always learning, experimenting, and tweaking something. They consider their beers forward thinking and don’t always brew to style. Somehow Angry Chair Brewing won a gold medal for their pilsner though, so they can follow the rules if they want to.

With no intention of being a one-note brewery and they are constantly pushing to do more. At any given time the tap list will feature a variety of styles, stouts, and IPAs being more common, but they make a lot of sours and porters as well.
